An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - August 23, 2016

A good night last night with 238 moths trapped and identified, covering thirty-four species, one of which was new for the garden and there was another first for the year.


The following were recorded: Ermine species [1]; Diamond-back Moth [1]; Blastobasis adustella [1]; Amblyptilia acanthadactyla [1]; Light Brown Apple Moth [24]; Euzophera pinguis [5]; Pyrausta aurata [3]; Agriphila tristella [8]; Agriphila straminella [7]; Agriphila geniculea [68]; Riband Wave [3]; Blood-vein [1]; Common Carpet [2]; Double-striped Pug [2]; Brimstone Moth [14]; Canary-shouldered Thorn [1]; Dusky Thorn [12]; Willow Beauty [18]; Straw Dot [12]; The Vapourer [1]; Ruby Tiger [1]; The Spectacle [2]; Silver Y [2]; Svensson's Copper Underwing [1]; Mouse Moth [1]; Marbled Beauty [8]; Angle Shades [1]; Flounced Rustic [5]; Flame Shoulder [1]; Large Yellow Underwing [16]; Lesser Yellow Underwing [2]; Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing [2] and Square-spot Rustic [8].
