An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - August 17, 2016

There were 111 moths trapped and identified last night that covered thirty-two species, three of which were new for the year with one new for the garden.


The following were recorded: Ermine species [2]; Blastobasis adustella [3]; Amblyptilia acanthadactyla [1]; Light Brown Apple Moth [20]; Mother of Pearl [1]; Rush Veneer [1]; Crambus perlella [2]; Agriphila tristella [21]; Agriphila straminella [7]; Agriphila geniculea [9]; Pebble Hook-tip [1]; Least Carpet [1]; Riband Wave [2]; Common Carpet [3]; Lime-speck Pug [1]; Brimstone Moth[2]; Canary-shouldered Thorn [2]; Dusky Thorn [1]; Willow Beauty [2]; Straw Dot [2]; Silver Y [2]; Dagger species [1]; Knot Grass [1]; Marbled Beauty [1]; Flounced Rustic [6]; Common Rustic species [4]; Shuttle-shaped Dart [2]; The Flame [1]; Falme Shoulder [1]; Large Yellow Underwing [3]; Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing [2] and Square-spot Rustic [3].
