An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - August 27, 2017

It was a good night last with 205 moths trapped and identified covering twenty-nine species, three of which were new for the year.


The following were recorded: Orange Swift [1]; Light Brown Apple Moth [15]; Garden Rose Tortrix [1]; Ancylis achatana [1]; Codling Moth[1]; Pyrausta aurata [1]; Crambus perlella [1]; Agriphila tristella [18]; Agriphila straminella [3]; Agriphila geniculea [17]; Riband Wave [1]; Garden Carpet [1]; Yellow Shell [1]; Common Marbled Carpet [1]; Green Carpet [1]; Brimstone Moth [14]; Willow Beauty [10]; Iron Prominent [1]; Straw Dot [2]; Vine's Rustic [3]; Old Lady [2]; Flounced Rustic [6]; Dark Arches [1]; Flame Shoulder [1]; Large Yellow Underwing [77]; Lesser Yellow Underwing [4]; Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing [1]; Square-spot Rustic [7] and Setaceous Hebrew Character [12].
