An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - September 3, 2017

Another rather cool night resulting a low catch with just sixty-two moths covering twenty-one species trapped and identified, two of which, were new for the year with one being new for the garden, making it worthwhile.


The following were recorded: Light Brown Apple Moth [4]; Garden Rose Tortrix [1]; Agriphila tristella [1]; Agriphila straminella [1]; Agriphila geniculea [2]; Double-striped Pug [1]; Brimstone Moth [6]; Canary-shouldered Thorn [1]; Dusky Thorn [3]; Willow Beauty [2]; Mouse Moth [1]; Vine's Rustic [1]; Flounced Rustic [7]; Centre-barred Sallow [1]; Feathered Gothic [1]; Common Wainscot [1]; Flame Shoulder [1]; Large Yellow Underwing [7]; Lesser Yellow Underwing [9]; Square-spot Rustic [3] and Setaceous Hebrew Character [8].
