An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - August 25, 2017

There were 186 moths trapped and identified last night covering thirty species, with two new for the year one of which, Frosted Orange, was new for the garden.


The following were recorded: Orange Swift [1]; Blastobasis adustella [1]; Amblyptilia acanthadactyla [1]; Light Brown Apple Moth [10]; Garden Rose Tortrix [1]; Crambus pascuella [1]; Agriphila tristella [27]; Agriphila straminella [5]; Agriphila geniculea [18]; Common Marbled Carpet [1]; Double-striped Pug [1]; Brimstone Moth [1]; Willo Beauty [11]; Straw Dot [1]; Silver Y [1]; Mouse Moth [1]; Marbled Beauty [3]; Vine’s Rustic [3]; Angle Shades [1]; Frosted Orange [1]; Flounced Rustic [2]; Common Rustic species [1]; Common Wainscot [1]; Shuttle-shaped Dart [2]; Falme Shouylder [4]; Small Square-spot [2]; Large Yellow Underwing [57]; Lesser Yellow Underwing [2]; Square-spot Rustic [3] and Setaceous Hebrew Character [16].
