An early morning moth trapping in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - September 5, 2018

There were 173 moths trapped and identified comprising of twenty-nine species, one of which, Yellow Shell, was new for the garden.


The following were recorded: Orange Swift [1]; Diamond-back Moth [1]; Brown House Moth [2]; Light Brown Apple Moth [8]; Garden Rose Tortrix [1]; Agriphila tristella [2]; Agriphila geniculea [3]; Garden Carpet [4]; Yellow Shell [1]; Common Marbled Carpet [1]; Green Carpet [1]; Double-striped Pug [1]; Brimstone Moth [9]; Canary-shouldered Thorn [1]; Willow Beauty [3]; Buff Ermine [1]; Flame Shoulder [1]; Large Yellow Underwing [87]; Lesser Yellow Underwing [13]; Setaceous Hebrew Character [2]; Square-spot Rustic [15]; Common Wainscot [2]; Centre-barred Sallow [2]; Copper Underwing [2]; Angle Shades [2]; Vine’s Rustic [4]; Silver Y [1]; Straw Dot [1] and Snout [1].
