An early morning moth trapping in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - June 13, 2014

The trap was out again last night; seventy-four moths were trapped covering thirty-six species with nine new for the year.


The following were recorded: Light Brown Apple Moth [3]; Celypha lacunana [3]; Marble Orchard Tortrix [2]; Chrysoteuchia culmella[3]; Agriphila straminella [1]; Eudonia mercurella [1]; Bee Moth [1]; Riband Wave [2]; Garden Carpet [1]; Common Pug [1]; Green Pug [2]; Brimstone Moth [2]; Scalloped Hazel [2]; Willow Beauty [4]; Mottled Beauty [1]; Clouded Silver [1]; Light Emerald [1]; Common Footman [2]; White Ermine [1]; Buff Ermine [5]; Heart and Dart [13]; Flame [3]; Falme Shoulder [2]; Ingrailed Cley [2]; Double Square-spot [1]; Cabbage Moth [1]; Bright-line Brown-eye [1]; Varied Coronet [1]; Shoulder-striped Wainscot [2]; Sycamore [1]; Rustic Shoulder-knot [1]; Marbled Minor species [5]; Green Silver Line [1]; Silver Y [1]; Spectacle [1] and Beautiful Hook-tip [1].
