An early morning moth trapping in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - June 11, 2014

The moth trap was out again last night and there were fifty-five moths of twenty-eight species trapped, including five new for the year but no new species.


The following were trapped: Light Brown Apple Moth [1]; Lozotaenia forsterana [1]; Pseudargrotoza conwagana [3]; Celypha striana [1]; Celypha rosaceana [1]; Small Magpie [1]; Bee Moth [1]; Common Marbled Carpet [2]; Mottled Pug [1]; Freyer’s Pug [1]; Common Pug [1]; Brimstone Moth [1]; Peppered Moth [1]; Willow Beauty [1]; White Ermine [2]; Buff Ermine [6]; Cinnabar [1]; Heart and Dart [10]; Shuttle-shaped Dart [1]; Flame [1]; Small Square-spot [1]; Bright-line Brown-eye [4]; Dark Arches [2]; Rustic Shoulder-knot [5]; Marble Minor species [1]; Burnished Brass [2]; Silver Y [1] and Straw Dot [1].
