With news of a male Red-necked
Phalarope at Eyebrook Reservoir I decided to go over late morning.
I had a Great Spotted
Woodpecker fly over the road close to Stonton Wyville on route but nothing else
of note.
On arrival the phalarope was
still present at the inflow where it remained for most of my stay, although it
was flushed by a Red Kite on one occasion but soon returned. The Black-tailed Godwit and three Garganey
present yesterday were also still present.
There were just four Shelduck today but the drake Wigeon was still present
and two Little Egrets were observed on the west bank. Six Red Kites and four Buzzards were observed
between the inlet and Stoke Dry Wood and two more distant Red Kites were also
observed.
