An early morning at Newton Harcourt, Leicestershire - July 19, 2012


This was an early morning start to empty Dave’s moth trap.  Eighty-eight moths were caught with twenty-six species.
The following were recorded: Willow Beauty [2]; Celypha Lacunana [4]; Chrysoteuchia culmella [6]; Agriphila tristella [1]; Eudonia mercurella [2]; Udea prunalis [1]; Brimstone Moth [1]; Swallow-tailed Moth [1]; Peppered Moth [1]; Clouded Silver [2]; Popular Hawkmoth [1]; Scarce Footman [1]; Common Footman [8]; Heart and Dart [11]; Large Yellow Underwing [3]; Setaceous Hebrew Character [1]; Dot Moth [1]; Angle Shades [1]; Dark Arches [28]; Light Arches [1]; Common Rustic sp. [1]; Uncertain [3]; Rustic [3]; Burnished Brass [1]; Silver Y [2] and Snout [1].
