An early morning moth trapping in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - July 9, 2014

I put the trap out last night but the catch was smaller, probably due to the wet weather yesterday afternoon and early evening and the cooler night.  I did trap eighty but only eighteen species were represented with just one, Catoptria falsella, being new for the year.

Dark Fruit-tree Tortrix [1]; Chrysoteuchia culmella [20]; Crambus pascuella [3]; Catoptria falsella [1]; Riband Wave [1]; Peppered Moth [1]; Willow Beauty [1]; Common Footman [17]; Flame [2]; Large Yellow Underwing [2]; Bright-line Brown-eye [1]; Dagger species [1]; Dark Arches [8]; Common Rustic type [5]; Uncertain [13]; Rustic [1]; Burnished Brass [1] and Snout [1].
