A day in Leicestershire & Rutland - July 18, 2014

I started off at home emptying the moth trap.  There were 150 moths trapped and identified covering thirty-one species and four new for the year.

The following were recorded: Blastobasis adustella [1]; Agapeta hamana [2]; Celypha striana [1]; Ancylis achatana [1]; Bud Moth [1]; Chrysoteuchia culmella [42]; Crambus pascuella [1]; Mother of Pearl [1]; Phycitodes binaevella [1]; Chinese Character [1]; Riband Wave [2]; Phoenix [1]; July Highflier [1]; Dingy Footman [1]; Scarec Footman [2]; Common Footman [1]; Heart and Dart [2]; Shuttle-shaped Dart [1]; Large Yellow Underwing [3]; Lesser Yellow Underwing [8]; Nutmeg [1]; Dot Moth [1]; Bright-line Brown-eye [15]; Clay [2]; Smoky Wainscot [2]; Dagger species [2]; Dark Arches [29]; Common Rustic species [12]; Uncertain [10]; Plain Golden Y [1] and Spectacle [1].
