An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - September 2, 2018


There were 179 moths trapped and identified last night covering thirty-six species but there was nothing new for the year.

The following were recorded: Orange Swift [2]; Ermine species [3]; Amblyptilia acanthadactyla [1]; Light Brown Apple Moth [6]; Garden Rose Tortrix [1]; Agapeta hamana [1]; Codling Moth [1]; Euzophera pinguis [1]; Garden Pebble [1]; Agriphila tristella [11]; Agriphila selasella [1]; Agriphila geniculea [24]; Chinese Character [3]; Small Dusty Wave [1]; Small Fan-footed Wave [1]; Small Blood-vein [2]; Garden Carpet [2]; Yellow Shell [1]; Common Marbled Carpet [1]; Double-striped Pug [4]; Lime-speck Pug [1]; Brimstone Moth [9]; Willow Beauty [2]; Copper Underwing [2]; Mouse Moth [1]; Vine’s Rustic [6]; Angle Shades [1]; Flounced Rustic [1]; Centre-barred Sallow [6]; Heart and Dart [2]; Shuttle-shaped Dart [1]; Flame Shoulder [1]; Large Yellow Underwing [52]; Lesser Yellow Underwing [8]; Square-spot Rustic [7] and Setaceous Hebrew Character [8].
