I had been to Stevenage for
lunch today with some of my old colleagues and had called at Eye Brook
Reservoir on route home. I wasn’t there
an hour but had eight Sand Martins, which was my first of the year. A single Osprey with either a damage or
moulting tail was fishing for a good twenty minutes or so without success and
three Buzzards a Snipe and four Shelduck were also of interest. There was also a Barn Owl briefly near the
bridge and a Little Owl between the reservoir and Great Easton.
