An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - August 7, 2016

I trapped and identified 129 moths covering thirty-eight species with two being new for the year.


The following were recorded: Orange Swift [1]; Ermine species [3]; Blastobasis adustella [6]; Light Brown Apple Moth [16]; Eudemis profundana [1]; Lobesia abscisana [1]; Acrobasis advenella [1]; Pyrausta aurata [2]; Anania coronate [2]; Mother of Pearl [2]; Chrysoteuchia culmella [5]; Crambus pascuella [2]; Crambus perlella [1]; Agriphila straminella [9]; Agriphila geniculea [1]; Catoptria falsella [1]; Riband Wave [10]; Yellow Shell [1]; Common Carpet [1]; Yellow-barred Brindle [1]; Dusky Thorn [1]; Willow Beauty [6]; Yellow-tail [1]; Ruby Tiger [1]; Dingy Footman [2]; Silver Y [2]; Dagger species [1]; Marbled Beauty [15]; The Uncertain [1]; Angle Shades [1]; Dark Arches [6]; Light Arches [1]; Common Rustic species [7]; The Clay [1]; Shuttle-shaped Dart [2]; Flame Shoulder [1]; Large Yellow Underwing [12] and Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing [1].
