An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - August 1, 2016

A slightly warmer night last night resulted in ninety-three moths, covering thirty-six species being trapped and identified but only one was new for the year.


The following were recorded: Ermine species [1]; Honeysuckle Moth [1]; Diamond-back Moth [1]; Crassa unitella [2]; Blastobasis adustella [12]; Clepsis consimilana [1]; Light Brown Apple Moth [2]; Cnephasia sp. [1]; Euzophera pinguis [1]; Anania coronate [1]; Eudonia mercurella [2]; Chrysoteuchia culmella [6]; Crambus perlella [1]; Pebble Hook-tip [1]; Chinese Character [2]; Riband Wave [6]; Common Carpet [1]; Double-striped Pug [1]; Lime-speck Pug [1]; Brimstone Moth [1]; Willow Beauty [4]; Yellow-tail [1]; Common Footman [1]; Scarce Footman [1]; The Fan-foot [1]; The Spectacle [1]; Silver Y [1]; Marbled Beauty [4]; The Rustic [1]; Dusky Brocade [1]; Dark Arches [9]; Common Rustic species [19]; Smoky Wainscot [1]; The Clay [1]; Shuttle-shaped Dart [1] and Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing [3].
