An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - August 6, 2016

I trapped and identified eighty-three moths, covering thirty-two species, last night with four being new for the year.


The following were recorded: Ermine species [4]; Blastobasis adustella [4]; Light Brown Apple Moth [4]; Cnephasia sp. [1]; Acleris forsskaleana [1]; Garden Rose Tortrix [1]; Lobesia abscisana [1]; Eudemis profundana [1]; Cydia splendana [1]; Anania coronate [2]; Udea lutealis [2]; Mother of Pearl [3]; Chrysoteuchia culmella [8]; Agriphila tristella [3]; Agriphila straminella [1]; Agriphila geniculea [1]; Riband Wave [2]; Dusky Thorn [2]; Willow Beauty [1]; Dingy Footman [2]; Common Footman [2]; Marbled Beauty [2]; The Uncertain [1]; The Rustic [1]; Angle Shades [1]; Common Rustic species [19]; Cloaked Minor [1]; Dun-bar [1]; Bright-line Brown-eye [1]; Large Yellow Underwing [2]; Lesser Yellow Underwing [1] and Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing [6].
