An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - July 16, 2016

It had turned quite warm yesterday evening and so I was up early expecting a good number of moths.  However the total was only up slightly with seventy-nine trapped and identified with just two new for the year.


The following were recorded: Ermine species [1]; Brown House Moth [1]; Crass unitella [1]; Red-barred Tortrix [1]; Timothy Tortrix [3]; Clepsis consimilana [1]; Celypha striana [1]; Ancylis achatana [1]; Thistle Ermine [1]; Eudonia mercurella [1]; Chrysoteuchia culmella [14]; Crambus pascuella [2]; Small Fan-footed Wave [1]; Riband Wave [2]; Brimstone Moth [3]; Swallow-tailed Moth [2]; Peppered Moth [1]; Willow Beauty [2]; Buff Ermine [1]; Common Footman [3]; The Coronet [1]; The Shark [1]; Marbled Beauty [1]; Mottled Rustic [4]; The Uncertain [5]; The Rustic [1]; Dark Arches [9]; Common Rustic species [1]; Bright-line Brown-eye [1]; Smoky Wainscot [2]; The Clay [2]; Heart and Dart [2]; The Flame [2]; Flame Shoulder [1] and Large Yellow Underwing [3].
