An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - July 4, 2016

I put the moth trap out again last night and trapped and identified sixty-seven moths covering thirty-two species, five of which were new for the year.


The following were recorded: Ghost Moth [1]; Coleophora Species [1]; Red-barred Tortrix [1]; Timothy Tortrix [1]; Light Brown Apple Moth [1]; Celypha striana [1]; Notocelia trimaculana [1]; Codling Moth [1]; Small Magpie [2]; Chrysoteuchia culmella [9]; Crambus pascuella [3]; Elephant Hawkmoth [1]; Riband Wave [3]; Blood-vein [1]; Barred Yellow [1]; Green Pug [3]; Foxglove Pug [1]; Lime-speck Pug [1]; Common Pug [1]; Brimstone Moth [2]; Swallow-tailed Moth [3]; Willow Beauty [2]; Buff-tip [1]; Buff Ermine [2]; Burnished Brass [1]; The Uncertain [7]; Angle Shades [1]; Bright-line Brown-eye [1]; Heart and Dart [8]; The Flame [1]; Large Yellow Underwing [2] and Setaceous Hebrew Character [2].
