An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - June 10, 2016

The moth trap was out again last night and I trapped and identified 108 moths covering twenty-eight species, eight being new for the year and one, Lesser Swallow Prominent new to the garden.


The following were trapped: Common Swift [1]; Diamond-back Moth [47]; Brown House-moth [1]; Light Brown Apple Moth [9]; Marbled Orchard Tortrix [1]; Notocelia cynosbatella [1]; Notocelia trimaculana [2]; Bee Moth [4]; Garden Carpet [1]; Green Pug [1]; Mottled Pug [3]; Brimstone Moth [1]; Willow Beauty [1]; Clouded Silver [2]; Lesser Swallow Prominent [1]; Buff-tip [1]; Pale Tussock [1]; Buff Ermine [1]; White Ermine [1]; Silver Y [1]; Rustic Shoulder-knot [6]; Dark Arches [1]; Marbled Minor species [3]; Nutmeg [1]; Heart and Dart [10]; Shuttle-shaped Dart [1]; Small Square-spot [2] and Setaceous Hebrew Character [1].
