An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - June 5, 2016

There was a better catch in the moth trap last night with fifty-eight moths of fourteen species.  Thirty-two of those caught were Diamond-backed Moths, which is significantly higher than I have ever trapped before with a previous best of just four.

The following were recorded: Diamond-backed Moth [32]; Brown Hoe Moth [2]; Light Brown Apple Moth [10]; Notocelia cynosbatella [1]; Bee Moth [1]; Eyed Hawk-moth [2]; Common Pug [1]; Mottled Pug [1]; White Ermine [1]; Angle Shades [1]; Nutmeg [1]; Bright-line Brown-eye [3]; Shuttle-shaped Dart [1] and Small Square-spot.
