I was back at Rutland Water
today to assist with the WeBS count and as usual completed South Arm Three and
Lagoon One. There was nothing unusual
seen during the count with a Curlew on Lagoon One being the best. I did see six Snipe from Shoveler Hide on Lagoon
Three and found the three Black-necked Grebes in the North Arm but couldn’t
locate either the Red-necked Grebe or Slavonian Grebe in the very choppy
conditions.
