An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - July 4, 2013

I put the moth trap out again last night and joined me in emptying it.  We caught sixty-nine moths of twenty-eight species.


The following were trapped: Brown House Moth [1]; Timothy Tortrix [2]; Celypha lacunana [1]; Chrysoteuchia culmella [4]; Crambus pascuella [2]; Agriphila straminella [1]; Small Magpie [2]; Small Emerald [1]; Common Carpet [1]; Common Marbled Carpet [2]; Mottled Pug [1]; Freyer’s Pug [1]; Common Pug [1]; Peppered Moth [2]; Willow Beauty [2]; Buff Ermine [2]; Heart and Dart [19]; Flame [4]; Flame Shoulder [1]; Lychins [1]; Dark Arches [3]; Large Nutmeg [3]; Uncertain [6]; Rustic [1]; Burnished Brass [1]; Silver Y [1]; Plain Golden Y [1] and Straw Dot [1].
