An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - July 1, 2013

After a good morning yesterday I decided to put the trap out again and this time caught and identified ninety-eight moths of twenty-six species.  A little less variety than yesterday with over a third of those caught being Heart and Dart.  I did have three new moths: Notocelia trimaculana, Varied Cornet and Green Silver-lines.

The following were trapped: Light Brown Apple Moth [2]; Marble Orchard Tortrix [1]; Notocelia trimaculana [1]; Chrysoteuchia culmella [7]; Crambus pascuella [1]; Small Magpie [1]; Common Carpet [1]; Small Rivulet [1]; Foxglove Pug [1]; Peppered Moth [3]; Buff-tip [1]; Common Footman [2]; Buff Ermine [1]; Heart and Dart [37]; Flame [1]; Bright-line Brown-eye [4]; Varied Coronet [1]; Shoulder-striped Wainscot [2]; Dagger species [2]; Dark Arches [7]; Large Nutmeg [1]; Marble Minor group [4]; Common Rustic group [2]; Uncertain [9]; Rustic [4]; Green Silver-lines [1] and Spectacle [1].
