An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - October 4, 2018


I put the trap out last night and caught and identified forty-nine moths covering sixteen species, three of which were new for the year with one new for the garden.

The following were recorded: Amblyptilia acanthadactyla [1]; Light Brown Apple Moth [4]; Small Blood-vein [1]; Common Marbled Carpet [2]; Swallow-tailed Moth [1]; The Snout [1]; Rosy Rustic [1]; Barred Sallow [3]; Beaded Chestnut [2]; Lunar Underwing [7]; The Chestnut [1]; Black Rustic [1]; Common Wainscot [1]; Shuttle-shaped Dart [3]; Large Yellow Underwing [12] and Lesser Yellow Underwing [8].
