Dave and I went out this
afternoon in the hope of seeing some more Waxwing and a Short-eared Owl.
We made the short drive to
Cosby but on arrival there was no sign of any Waxwing and a tour of some of the
village and a return to their regular spot failed to produce any.
We arrived at Frolesworth Lake
and walked down the track an down to the west side of the lake. After about twenty minutes Dave picked up the
Short-eared Owl and we had good but sometimes distant views of the owl.
As we drove home we had a Barn
Owl hunting over the roadside verge near Arnesby before flying over the road
and away.
