The Spotted Crake had
performed again yesterday so Dave and I decided to give it another shot but
after three hours there was still no sign, so we called it a day and went to
Swithland Reservoir.
We did see four Little Egrets,
a Common Sandpiper and a Kingfisher and seven swift passed through.
There had been a Black-necked
Grebe reported yesterday at Swithland Reservoir but there was no sign this
morning. There were two female Goldeneye
present and a Peregrine was perched at the top of the normal tree. A Green Woodpecker was observed as we drove
along the dam and a juvenile Buzzard was calling almost constantly.
