An early morning in Wigston Magna, Leicestershire - Augsut 27, 2016

A little cooler last night and so a smaller catch of 106 moths, covering twenty-nine species, with one, The Vestal, being a lifer.


The following were recorded: Orange Swift [3]; Blastobasis adustella [1]; Light Brown Apple Moth [10]; Garden Rose Tortrix [1]; Euzophera pinguis [1]; Agriphila tristella [6]; Agriphila straminella [6]; Agriphila geniculea [17]; Poplar Hawkmoth [1]; Riband Wave [1]; The Vestal [1]; Garden Carpet [1]; Common Carpet [1]; Double-striped Pug [2]; Brimstone Moth [7]; Canary-shouldered Thorn [1]; Dusky Thorn [4]; Willow Beauty [4]; Burnished Bras [1]; Silver Y [2]; Angle Shades [1]; Flounced Rustic [3]; Common Rustic species [2]; Flame Shoulder [1]; Small Square Spot [1]; Large Yellow Underwing [12]; Lesser Yellow Underwing [4] and Square-spot Rustic [9].
