An early morning at Newton Harcourt, Leicestershire - August 3, 2012


Another morning mothing.
We caught and identified sixty-three moths, fourteen micros and forty-nine macros of twenty-seven species.  There were an additional five that as yet have not been identified.
The following were recorded: Willow Beauty [1]; Coleophora Species; Brown House-moth [1]; Chequered Fruit-tree Tortrix [1]; Pammene fasciana [1]; Chrysoteuchia culmella [5]; Agriphila straminella [5]; Catoptria falsella [1]; Small Magpie [1]; Small Blood-vein [1]; Small Fan-footed Wave [1]; Riband Wave [6]; Lime-speck Pug [1]; V-Pug [1]; Popular Hawkmoth [1]; Yellow-tail [1]; Dingy Footman [1]; Scarce Footman [1]; Common Footman [1]; Heart and Dart [4]; Lesser Yellow Underwing [2]; Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing [2]; Setaceous Hebrew Character [1]; Clay [1]; Dark Arches [9]; Common Rustic sp. [5]; Uncertain [3]; Rustic [5] and Silver Y [1].
